Butler County Sheriff's Office and Warrants Division

The Butler County Sheriff's Office is at 705 Hanover Street, Hamilton, OH 45011. Administration is at (513) 785-1000. The Jail line is (513) 785-1345. Non-Emergency Dispatch is (513) 785-1300. The Records Unit has its own number at (513) 785-1030. Sheriff Richard K. Jones leads the department.

The sheriff maintains a Warrants Division that processes and executes warrants from all Butler County courts. The office has an online warrant search tool where you can look up warrants by name and date of birth. There is also a Most Wanted section on the site. Free warrant verification is available to anyone who calls or visits.

The Central Records Unit handles background checks. Local checks are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. State and national checks run Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A local background check costs $4, BCI state check is $30, FBI check is $35, and both state and national checks together are $55. Types of Warrants in Butler County

Butler County's court system issues a high volume of warrants across multiple courts. Arrest warrants follow ORC 2935. A complaint goes to a judge. Probable cause review happens.
